North Ayrshire Council have a series of mainstream participatory budgeting events taking place as part of the PB Festival 2018, with three chances for people to have their say about how local money is spent.

North Ayrshire Council were one of the first councils to use participatory budgeting for their ‘mainstream’ services, in this case grounds maintenance. They were featured in the PB Scotland film ‘Moving Toward the Mainstream’ where they shared how £1 million of the grounds maintenance budget voted on using PB in the Three towns locality. More here.

Along with this, they have a series of small grants PB events happening, giving local people and groups to bid for up to £1,200 on ideas around local life, activities and community wellbeing. More here.

They’re also runninged targettied PB events for young people, with £800 available to 8-25 year-olds who have ideas around health and wellbeing, poverty & inequality and participation & young people’s voice. More here.
